Installation

Follow these steps to get Cookie Porter up and running in your browser.

From the App Stores

1. Visit the Cookie Porter page on your preferred browser store:
   • Chrome Web Store
   • Firefox Add-ons
   • Edge Add-ons
2. Click Add to Chrome, Add to Firefox, or Get (for Edge).
3. Confirm the installation by clicking Add extension or Allow in the pop-up.

Initial Setup

Once installed, you’ll see the Cookie Porter icon in your extension toolbar.

1. Click the icon to open the popup.
2. Choose your mode:
   • Google Sync: Sign in with your Google account to enable encrypted cloud synchronization.
   • Guest Mode: Use the extension locally without a Google account (no cloud sync).

To enable Google Drive sync, you must grant the extension permission to access its own private data folder in your Drive. We cannot see any other files in your Drive.

Permissions

Cookie Porter requires the following permissions to function:

• cookies: To manage and restore your web sessions.
• storage: To save your encrypted data locally.
• identity: For secure OAuth2 authentication with Google.
• host permissions: To interact with the sites you want to manage cookies for.
